GeoNames upgrade, new population field and filters, expired field now in job results

jobdataapi.com v4.9 / API version 1.11

0 min read · Jan. 29, 2025

The latest update to the Jobdata API introduces several enhancements designed to provide subscribers with more detailed and actionable data. A significant addition is the inclusion of a population field in the /api/jobcities/ endpoint, which now offers comprehensive population data for each city. This update is complemented by new min_population and max_population query filters, allowing you to refine their searches based on city population sizes (see docs).

For subscribers with an access pro plan, the /api/jobs/ endpoint now features an expired field on both, the list result sets as well as the individual job object results. This addition allows you to track the lifecycle of job postings during import that might be expired already (see docs).

Additionally, our GeoNames dataset has been upgraded to the full version as of December 31, 2024, now including all cities with populations of 5,000 or more for fully global coverage. Licensed under CC BY 4.0) - also see https://download.geonames.org/export/dump/readme.txt for more info.
